ABOUT

Glandwr is the home of Bear Love and Shion Buschner. The 10 acre estate homes a 16th century former mill house near the beautiful coastline of Ceredigion in the West of Wales. The name Glandwr itself translates from the Welsh as Clean Water and tells a bit of a story of the purity of this land. This is a place of great peace, of sacred sound, of birdsong and fabulous sunsets. It’s a place where you can come up for air and just drop into your softer self and feeling safe to do so.

Many people know Glandwr from their holidays at Ysgubor Y Rhosyn (the Rose Barn), a converted dairy barn, that homes our beautiful holiday apartment, with its own garden and al fresco dining, whilst watching the most fabulous sunsets. We also have a gorgeous chalet, (Y Gyfrinfa) a converted caravan with a wood burning stove, which sleeps 6. Over the summer months we erect a whole site with a large pagoda, a tipi and some bell tents, a fabulous place for kind gatherings and sweet get-togethers.

Glandwr historically was on old grain mill up until the mid 1950ties and then about 200 acres to it’s name. With its Grade 2 listed Waterwheel now out of service, but still visible behind our barn. The farm has now been divided up into different legacies, but Glandwr itself has records dating back to the early1500s with even tales of fleeing Christian monks coming to secretly worship at the site of Glandwr during Henry the VIII's infamous Dissolution Of The Monastaries. It has always a  been a space of shelter and we like to still uphold these principles today.

Glandwr is a stone throw away from some of the finest beaches. Within 15 minutes you can reach the jewels of Cardigan bay, like Penbryn, Llangrannog New Quay and Mwnt. There are forests and rivers and some sweet market towns like Cardigan, Aberaeron and Lampeter all within a 30minute drive.

What we offer here is a place of rest, restoration and healing… maybe you’ll experience some sound healing or acupuncture treatments whilst you’re here. Maybe you bring your children and discover the magic of the dolphins in Cardigan bay during an un forgettable boat ride. We offer individual tailor made retreats . We hold workshops where you learn to deepen your art of gong and flumie playing with the maker himself as well as hosting international gong events.
Our annual Golden Gong Gathering happens in August, now in its 3rd year.

Glandwr is awaiting your visit. As Rumi says: "Out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing, there is a field, I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about."
